Thailand's PE offers move north in China

A major Thailand producer has announced fresh PE offers to China today with increases, which market participants attributed to the support of supply tightness. Latest price list indicates $10/ton hike on HDPE and $30/ton higher on LDPE cargoes compared to last week. The maker’s latest offers are reported at $1175/ton for HDPE film, $1185/ton for HDPE yarn, $1200/ton for LDPE film and $1230/ton for LDPE heavy duty, all based on CFR China, LC at sight term.

A distributor commented, “We believed that our Thai supplier would be able to achieve their price hike target since there is not sufficient cargoes from Middle East recently.”
