Local producer cuts spot PE in Indonesia, keeping PP in the mix
Indonesian buyers reported having received fresh PP and PE offers from a key domestic producer with additional decreases on most of the grades, which were very much expected considering the lack of buying interest in this market.

As reported earlier, Indonesian customers have been slowing down purchases due to the lack of end-product orders, especially for the woven bag sector. Recently, even PE packaging makers are facing difficulties in lifting end-product prices, forcing these companies to operate with squeezed profit margins.
“Trading sentiment remains sluggish. Considering the slow to recover economy condition, we are not exactly optimistic about the market outlook,” a market source said.
