According to the latest data from the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the country’s manufacturing activities in the month of November 2021 unexpectedly pick up after three consecutive months of decline.

The latest Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) rose to 50.1 from 49.2 in October, which was attributed to easing electricity shortages and softer raw material prices.

In fact, a sub-index for input prices plunged to 52.9 in November from 72.1 the month earlier, highlighting the easing costs pressure.

The construction activities index climbed 2.2 percentage points to 59.1.
