Emergency shutdown at China's CSPC polyolefins units

According to market sources, CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Co (CSPC) unexpectedly shut its PP and PE plants today due to technical glitches.
Located in Nanhai, Guangdong, China, the plants involved in the shutdown including a PP plant with capacity of 260,000 ton/year, a HDPE plant with capacity of 240,000 ton/year and a LDPE plant with capacity of 250,000 ton/year. The PP and HDPE plant are expected to remain off-line for approximately 4-5 days, and LDPE will be off for 7 days.
