Re-export LLDPE film emerged in Vietnam market

Vietnamese players reported receiving offers for Qatar LLDPE film cargoes; re-export from China to the country today at the range of $1235-1250/ton CIF, LC AS term, shipment in August 2016. 

Vietnam market has been suffering from deficient LLDPE film supply since early this year, which allows the grade to be traded at premium compared to other PE film strand in both import and local ground. For this, the country becomes an attractive destination to overseas suppliers, where profit margins appear to be healthier than nearby markets. 

A trader received the re-export offer commented, “Domestic LLDPE film prices have reached VND32,000,000/ton ($1305/ton without VAT) due to lack of availability. However, we need to discuss with our supplier before taking fresh cargoes as the shipping time is a little too long.”
