The local PP market has been firming up for a couple of weeks even though demand remains soft. Large-scale buyers are turning to the import market to make additional replenishment while small to medium-scale buyers would only buy hand-to-mouth amid the sluggish end-product businesses.
“Purchasing activities slow down visibly. Everyone is waiting for the Ramadan demand to emerge, in the meantime, we would monitor if demand could catch up with the current rate of price hike,” a trader commented.
