The Energy Information Agency released the latest US crude inventory report that showed a buildup of 2.4 million barrels in the week ending 21 January 2022 despite fuel demand surging close to record highs
Commercial crude oil stocks reached 416.2 million barrels.
Gasoline stock rose 1.3 million barrels to 247.9 million barrels.
Refinery utilization rates dropped 0.4 percentage points from the previous week.
