Unexpected issues at Shenhua XinJiang's new MTO unit

According to market sources, Shenhua XinJiang Coal-Based New Materials Project has started up their new methanol unit on 22 July 2016 but due to catalyst leakage, the unit is currently under troubleshooting. The startup schedule is expected to be delay for 10-12 days.

Located at Urumqi, China, the company has a 450,000 ton/year coal-based PP unit and a 270,000 ton/year coal-based PE unit. The plant is designed to produce 1.8 million tons/year methanol.
