Oil rose on Monday after more sanctions on Russia could disrupt supply
International benchmarks for crude oil jumped on Monday, 28 February 2022 after Western countries imposed more sanctions on Russia while removing some Russian banks from the SWIFT system that could disrupt oil supply from the country.
Brent for April delivery surged $3.06 or 3.1% to close at $100.99/barrel. The April contract expired on Monday.
WTI rose $4.13 or 4.5% to close at $95.72/barrel.
