Emergency shutdown at Inner Mongolia Yili's PVC (A) unit

Market sources reported that Inner Mongolia Yili Chemical Industry Co Ltd has unexpectedly shut its acetylene-based PVC unit last week (23 July 2016) owing to technical glitches.

Based in Inner Mongolia, China, the company has a acetylene-based PVC unit with a production capacity of 500,000 ton/year. It is expected to remain off-stream for 5 days.

“This is minor shutdown and shall not have much impact on our suppliers. However, we have sold out our allocations for August and we are still in consideration for the price level next month,” a source closed to the company added.
