Saudi maker lifted PP, PE prices to Vietnam; availability is limited

Market players in Vietnam reported receiving August delivery offers from a major Saudi Arabia producer with increases of $30/ton for HDPE and homo-PP, $40/ton for LLDPE film and $50/ton for PP block copolymer.

The producer latest price list stands at $1170/ton for HDPE film, $1210/ton for LLDPE film, $1060/ton for homo-PP and $1130/ton for block copolymer, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

A distributor offered on behalf of the producer commented, “We have very small quantity of PE this month due to technical issues that forced the plant shutdown in June. Therefore, we only can supply minimum quantity to regular customers. Meanwhile, most of our buyers are placing bid for homo-PP at $1010-1020/ton, which we found it to be a little too low. We are monitoring market respond further then only decide on necessary actions.”
