Emergency shutdown at Sinopec Yanshan's PE units

According to market sources, Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Co Ltd has emergency shut 3 of its PE units today owing to technical issues on the ethylene cracker.

Based in Beijing, China, the company has shut its 200,000 ton/year LDPE (New) line, 60,000 ton/year No. 1 old LDPE line and 60,000 ton/year No. 3 old LDPE line due to insufficient upstream supplies. Meanwhile, the other units are running at a reduced rate.
