Saudi Arabia maker stepped back on PP, HDPE prices to Vietnam

According to market sources, a Saudi Arabia producer has stepped back on their PP and HDPE film prices to Vietnam by $30/ton compared to initial offers given earlier this week in the face of sluggish buying interest.

After the downward adjustment, the producer’s latest price list stands at $1030/ton for homo-PP yarn and injection, $1070/ton for BOPP, $1100/ton for PP block copolymer and $1140/ton for HDPE film, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

A distributor offered on behalf of the producer informed, “Most of our regular customers are very reluctant to replenish cargoes as they believed that falling energy values would generate addition pressure on the market in the near term. We received bid for homo-PP at as low as $1000/ton. Meanwhile, we have sold out our LLDPE film parcels since the quantity available is very limited.”
