UPDATE: India scrapped plan to implement ADD on import LDPE
The Indian Ministry of Finance has set the final decision not to impose anti-dumping duty on the import of LDPE from Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, and the USA as previously recommended by the Ministry of Trade.
The decision comes as governments around the world scramble to support local industries amid the rising energy and input costs.
In April, the Indian Ministry of Trade recommended anti-dumping duty rates ranging between $17.05/ton to $216.76/ton on import LDPE from the above-mentioned countries. At that time, industry participants were expecting the government to greenlight the implementation within a couple of weeks.
