Emergency shutdown at Fujian's PP unit

Market sources reported that China’s Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has unexpectedly shut its No. 1 PP unit (new) last Friday (05 August 2016) due to issues on the extruder.

Based in Fujian, China, the No. 1 PP unit has a production capacity of 330,000 ton/year. The company is planning to bring the unit on-stream by 20 August 2016. Meanwhie, it’s 12,000 ton/year old PP unit and 220,000 ton/year No. 2 PP unit (new) are still operating at a normal rate.
