At the time of this report, many buyers continue to search for more competitive cargoes in the distribution market. Data from CommoPlast shows that spot homo-PP yarn and injection offered by traders are IDR470,000/ton ($30/ton) below the producer’s list price. Meanwhile, for LLDPE film, depending on the origin and the grade, the price gap is between IDR 410,000 - 1,110,000/ton ($27 – 71/ton).
“Buyers remain very cautious in making fresh purchases. There are no strong supports for a rebound, yet, squeezed margins encourage sellers to limit any potential price cuts. This condition might persist in the near-term,” a trader added.
