The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported an increase of 2.6 million barrels in US commercial crude inventories in the week ending 21 October 2022 to 439.9 million barrels as the government continues to release more barrels from the Strategic Reserve.

During the week, US crude exports rose to all-time high of 5.1 million barrels per day. 

Refineries in the country operated at 88.9% of their operable capacity, a figure industry participants deemed higher than usual at this time of the year. 

Total motor gasoline stocks decreased by 1.5 million barrels.
