According to the latest report from the Energy Information Administration, the total commercial crude stocks in the US fell 3.1 million barrels in the week of 28 October 2022 to 436.8 million barrels – about 3% below the five-year average at this time of the year.

Total motor gasoline stocks decreased by 1.3 million barrels during the week to 206.6 million barrels even though local refineries operated at higher rates. The data showed that refiners operated at 90.6% of their operable capacity, up from 88.9% the week before.

The US imported about 6.2 million barrels of crude oil per day last week, an increase of 25,000 barrels.
