Major Taiwanese maker cuts HDPE prices to China

A major Taiwanese maker has reduced their offers for HDPE film and yarn by $25/ton compared to beginning of the week to reach $1145/ton and $1155/ton respectively, both on CFR China, LC at sight term. Players attributed this reduction to the subdued demand condition.
 

A distributor offered on behalf of the maker commented, “We were facing strong resistance with the previous offers, while ethylene costs have retreated, hence our principal decided to slash prices to attract buying interest. Demand for HDPE film remains disappointed despite the peak season is just around the corner. We hope market condition could witness some improvement in the coming month.”
