UPDATED: Taiwanese producer lifted HDPE prices to China after good sales

In the earlier trading session today, a major Taiwanese producer has slashed their HDPE offers to China by as much as $25/ton from beginning of the week in the face of persistent slow demand. However, in a surprised turn, the producer reportedly up adjusted offers for the same cargoes in the second half of the trading day by $10/ton, bringing the latest prices to $1155/ton for HDPE film and $1165/ton for HDPE yarn, all based on CFR China, LC AS term.
Talking to a distributor in Xianmen, the source informed, “Sales was relatively satisfactory after the reduction, therefore our principal tried to lift the offers slightly to monitor buyers’ response. We might only implement further measures in the coming week.”
