Taiwanese major lifted PVC offers to regional market

A major Taiwanese producer has announced new PVC prices for September delivery at $40/ton hike from last month for all markets across the globe. Latest offers stand at $850/ton for Southeast Asia and China, $910/ton for India, all based on CIF, LC AS term. Export offers are reported at $820/ton FOB Taiwan, with the same term.

Southeast Asian buyers are generally surprised with such large increment amid slow demand; however, respond from India market appears to be more positive. A trader in this country informed, “The allocation this month is also very limited due to the shutdown and several other plant issues. Hence, we think buyers would gradually accept the new prices after a day or two.”
