Malaysian major cuts domestic PP and PE offers for September

A major domestic producer in Malaysia has announced September delivery offers for both PP and PE with larger than expected decreases from last month. Indeed, the price list indicated up to MYR300/ton ($74/ton) reduction for PP. Meanwhile, the maker also cut PE prices by MYR200/ton ($50/ton) for HDPE, MYR150/ton ($37/ton) for LDPE and MYR120/ton ($30/ton) for LLDPE. Players attributed such reduction to persistent sluggish domestic demand as well as stronger exchange rate.
