Saudi's Sadara started up mixed feed cracker

According to a media report, Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) has brought its mixed feed cracker (MFC) online last Sunday, 28 August 2016. The cracker is developed to include 12 furnaces. Seven furnaces will be used to crack ethane, while the remaining five will be used to crack naphtha. It is reported that three of the five liquid furnaces are designed in a way that they can switch between gas and liquid feedstock.
Output from the cracker is expected to be at 1.5 million tons/year of ethylene, 400,000 tons/year of propylene. The complex is a join venture between Saudi Aramco and US-based Dow Chemical that based in the city of Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
