China's FREP restarted No.1 PP, shut old PP unit unexpectedly

Market sources reported that Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has unexpectedly shut its PP (old) unit today (31 August 2016) due to issues on pipe blockage.
Based in Fujian, China, the PP (old) plant has a production capacity of 120,000 ton/year. Meanwhile, the company has restarted it’s 330,000 ton/year No. 1 PP (new) on 31 August 2016 from previous turnaround on 8 August 2016, operating at 50% rate and it’s 220,000 ton/year No. 2 PP (new) unit is operating normally, both plants producing homo-PP raffia (1080K) grade.
