Korea's LG Chem shut Yeosu cracker unexpectedly

According to market sources, LG Chem Corporation has shut its naphtha cracker in Yeosu on 31 August 2016 after encountered some minor technical glitches. It is unclear on the restart schedule, though the company said it expects to resume operation soon.

Based in Yeosu, South Korea, the steam cracker produce 1,000,000 tons/year of ethylene and 480,000 tons/year of propylene.
