Oil fell on Friday

International benchmarks for oil prices fell heavily on Friday (9 September) despite an earlier report on US commercial crude inventories that show the biggest drop in 17 years. Traders are not confident that such large drop marks the beginning of the trend. Besides, stronger US dollars also pushed prices down.

WTI closed at $45.88/barrel (-$1.74) for October delivery

Brent closed at $48.01/barrel (-$1.98) for November delivery
