India reviews anti-dumping duties on imported CPVC from China and South Korea
CPVC, produced through the chlorination of polyvinyl chloride resin, exhibits superior properties compared to PVC, including enhanced corrosion resistance, heat resistance
As the previously imposed anti-dumping duties on the imports of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) from China and South Korea are about to expire on 25 August 2024, the Indian government has initiated a sunset review on the duty to determine the extension of the policy.
In March 2020, the Indian government officially imposed a definite antidumping duty on imports of CPVC resin from China at $2025 - 2161/ton and from South Korea at $2024/ton after a year of investigation.
The current sunset review investigation covers a 12-month period, spanning from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023, encompassing the product under the HS codes 39042110, 39042190, 39042210, 39042290, 39041090, 39049000 and 39049010.
CPVC, produced through the chlorination of polyvinyl chloride resin, exhibits superior properties compared to PVC, including enhanced corrosion resistance, heat resistance, solubility, flame retardancy, and mechanical strength. The material finds applications in construction, chemical industry, metallurgy, shipbuilding, electrical appliances, textiles, and more.
