Thailand major up adjusts HDPE prices to Vietnam, maintains PP prices

A major Thailand producers reportedly announced fresh offers for HDPE to Vietnam at $5/ton higher than last week to reach $1160/ton for film, injection and blow molding grades. HDPE yarn offer stands at $1165/ton, CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. Meanwhile, the maker rollover PP block copolymer prices at $1075/ton with the same term.

A source close to the producer informed, “We are still having regular allocation for PP block copolymer. Demand for HDPE has been weak and in fact we have reduced operation rate to leverage opportunities in the ethylene market recently. Our customers are placing bid at $30-40/ton lower than initial offer levels, however, we are not accepting these prices yet.”
