Over the weekend, a major producer in Indonesia reportedly opened fresh PP and PE offers to the local market at varying price points compared to the previous week. It is the third time in two weeks that homo-PP, LLDPE and HDPE were marked down whereas homo-PP film, mPE C6 and PP copolymer saw an increase in the listing, following suit on the international trend.

Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world will be officially off for 7 days to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr festival from 08 – 15 April 2024. However, as reported earlier, the majority of local converters will progressively wind down operations beginning 03 April 2024, to give employees an additional week off before the celebration.
“After weighing all options, we don’t think it’s strategic to cut on our offerings as the market is rather quiet now as most are in holiday spirit already. We do anticipate buying sentiment to pick up post-holiday as it has been a while since customers made significant purchases,” shared a market player.
