Taiwanese major lifted October PVC prices

Players across the Asia PVC market reported receiving fresh PVC offers from a major Taiwanese producer at $40/ton hike compared to last month, reaching $890/ton to Southeast Asia and China, and at $950/ton to India, all based on CIF, LC AS term. Export offer stand at $860/ton FOB Taiwan with the same payment term.

A Vietnamese converter received the new offer commented, “The new price levels are a little too high. We are still having sufficient material to cover production need till end of October, therefore we might postpone our purchases this time.”

Meanwhile, it is reported that demand in northern India remains healthy and some buyers are requesting for quantity. A market source informed, “The Taiwanese supplier only have 25,000 tons of allocation to India this month, which increased from last month though it is still below the regular allocation. We think market will be able to absorb such quantity, just that concluded price levels might only be finalise later today.”
