China’s Zhejiang Petrochemical restarted steam cracker following maintenance

According to market sources, Zhejiang Petrochemical restarted its No. 2 naphtha cracker on Friday, 17 May 2024 following one and half months offline for routine maintenance works.

The cracker has an annual capacity of 1.4 million tons of ethylene and 700,000 tons of propylene and is currently operating at full rates, sources close to the producer said.
At the time of this report, the producer has largely completed all maintenance plans for the first half of 2024 with the 450,000 tons/year No. 1 PP unit restarted in April. Meanwhile, the 450,000 tons/year HDPE lines located at Zhejiang Petrochemical II resumed operation on 8 May 2024.
