China’s Jinneng Energy delayed the restart of the PDH unit

According to market sources, Jinneng Energy has implemented an executive decision to delay the restart of the propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in China without offering an explanation.

The 900,000 tons/year PDH plant is part of the Phase II project and was taken offline on 31 May 2024 for a two-week maintenance work. The restart time has been pushed back to the end of June.

Market sources are monitoring closely the return schedule of the unit while expecting no major impact on the market at the moment. 

Meanwhile, the producer’s downstream PP units with an annual output of 900,000 tons/year are operating albeit at reduced rates.
