Thai maker stepped back on PE offers to China

A major Thailand producer has announced new PE offers to China this week with reduction compared to last week on the back on sluggish buying interest. The latest offer showed a drop of $10/ton for HDPE film to reach $1135/ton and $5/ton for HDPE yarn at $1150/ton CFR China, LC AS term. The producer meanwhile cut LLDPE film prices by $20/ton to $1230/ton with the same term. It is reported that the producer did not open any offers for LDPE in the previous week, however having some quantity this round at $1220/ton for film grade and $1250/ton for heavy duty grade. 

A trader received the new offers commented, "Despite the downward adjustment, we received very limited number of purchase inquiries. Most of our regular customers prefer to source some small quantity in local market before departing for the long National Day holidays. We expected minimum trading activities this week for import cargoes."
