The coal-based producer reduced auction prices for both homo-PP and LLDPE by CNY 80/ton from the previous session.

The Shenhua Auction Platform commenced July with a soft performance, notwithstanding the firm futures contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange. The coal-based producer reduced auction prices for both homo-PP and LLDPE by CNY 80/ton from the previous session. Despite these reductions, the platform did not achieve full sales for the homo-PP auction allocations.
Buyers are currently adopting a hand-to-mouth procurement strategy, anticipating further discounts in upcoming auction sessions.
Background:
Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co, the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates through four subsidiaries: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co. Ltd., Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co. Ltd., and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company boasts an annual production capacity of 2.65 million tons of PP, 750,000 tons of HDPE/LLDPE, and 570,000 tons of LDPE.
