Thailand's PE offers journey north in China

Chinese buyers returned from the long National Day holidays to receive fresh hike for Thailand PE cargoes compared to the pre-holidays period. The latest offer showed an increased of $15/ton for HDPE film to reach $1160/ton, $10/ton for HDPE yarn at $1170/ton, $20/ton for LLDPE film at $1260/ton, and $60/ton hike for LDPE film and heavy duty grade to reach $1290/ton and $1320/ton respectively, all on CFR China, LC AS term.

A buyer received the new offers commented, “Our principal supplier is very confident about the near term outlook given some unexpected shutdown at several crackers including Singapore’s Shell, Iran’s MEHR Petrochemical and India’s Haldia Petrochemical, which might support from the costs side. We think in addition to the healthy demand in local market, prices might sustain the stable to firm trend in days ahead.”
