According to market sources, Chandra Asri Petrochemical is planning for a major expansion and debottlenecking of its naphtha-fed steam cracker and downstream plants based in Cilegon, Indonesia, within 2019-2025.

In addition, the company also in consideration for constructing an aromatics/benzene extraction plant in order to obtain benzene feedstock from its 400,000 ton/year of pyrolysis gasoline for its 100,000 ton/year styrene monomer (SM) plant, as currently all of the required benzene was being imported and pygas is being provided to PT Pertamina (Persero) for the gasoline pool.
