Re-export LLDPE film from China showed up in Vietnam

Vietnamese players today reported receiving offers for LLDPE film from various Middle Eastern origins, which to be re-exported from China bonded warehouse. This comes as a surprise to many players since demand in China has picked up drastically since the end of the National Day holidays that pushes import prices to the country higher.

The range of the offers for re-export cargoes stand at $1245-1255/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term, shipment before 10 November 2016. Players showed very little buying interest and commented that these offers are way above the market acceptance levels.

A buyer said, “We are still receiving offers from direct shipment from Saudi Arabia at below the $1200/ton threshold, yet we are still negotiating for further discount. Local market is not catching up with import ground, hence we prefer to be cautious.”

Import LLDPE film to Vietnam currently stand at $1160-1255/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.
