UPDATE: China's Hechuang to have on-spec coal-based PP, PE from new plants

Market sources reported that Zhongtian Hechuang Co Ltd is going to have on-spec coal-based LLDPE and homo-PP cargoes soon, expected by second half of the month. The plant is part of the larger coal based project which process 25 million tons/year of coal and produce 3.6 million tons/year of methanol, 1.37 million tons/year of olefins and other products.

According to a source closed to the company, one of the 350,000 tons/year PP unit (Loop method) and the 300,000 tons/year full density PE (producing LLDPE grade) has started trial run recently and expected to have on-spec cargoes by end of the month if everything runs smoothly.

Based in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, China, the company has another PP plant (Kettle method) with a production capacity of 350,000 tons/year is expected to startup by April-May 2017, while a 120,000 tons/year and a 250,000 tons/year LDPE unit are expected to be starting up by next year.
