Thailand's SCG to shut polyolefin units for maintenance

According to market sources, SCG Chemicals Co Ltd is planning to shut its No. 3 PP and HDPE units for a scheduled turnaround by November 2016.

Located at Map Ta Phut, Thailand, SCG owns No. 3 PP plants with a total annual production capacity of 420,000 tons/year (producing all grades except copolymers) and 4 HDPE lines with total capacity of 980,000 tons/year. The HDPE units are expected to remain off-stream for about 3-4 weeks, meanwhile the No. 3 PP unit is expected to be shut by mid November 2016 for 1-2 weeks.
