Malaysian major revised LDPE prices to Vietnam

A major Malaysian producer has down adjusted their LDPE offers to Vietnam by $10/ton just a day after announced November delivery cargoes to this market. Players attributed such move to strong buyer’s resistance towards the initial hike.

Latest offers stand at $1270-1280/ton for LDPE film, $1360-1370/ton for LDPE coating and $1330-1340/ton for LDPE injection, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.  The maker meanwhile leave HDPE offers unchanged.

A buyer commented, “We purchased very regularly, but this time we think prices are too high. Domestic market is still weak and we almost make no profit buying at this level. We planned to only purchase a small quantity this time.”
