South Korea's LG to ramp up ethylene production in the coming 3 years

According to market sources, LG Chem Corporation is planning to boost the ethylene production capacity of its naphtha-fed steam cracker which located at Daesan, South Korea, as much as 230,000 tons/year (22%) to reach 1,27 million tons/year within 2017-2019.

In addition, the company will also switch one of its two PS lines to produce ABS during first half of 2017. Hence, the production capacity of ABS will be added further 30,000 tons/year to reach 880,000 tons/year, meanwhile production capacity of PS will reduce 50,000 tons/year to reach 50,000 tons/year.
