Import Southeast Asian's PVC surged in Malaysia 

Malaysian players reported to have received fresh PVC offers from major Southeast Asian producers with $30-40/ton increased compared to the latest prices given a week ago. This is in line with the firming trend pioneered by the Taiwanese producer, whose offers jumped $40/ton for November shipment cargoes.
A converter received PVC offers from a Thailand producer at $930/ton, CIF Malaysia, LC AS term informed, “Another Thai maker also offered at $960/ton with the same term, yet very limited quantity due to previous plant issues and we think this is too high. Our end product business see no significant improvement, hence we plan to look for another source of supply.”
Most buyers CommoPlast contacted have expressed buy idea for import cargoes at $900-920/ton CIF term and a buyers received Indonesian PVC offers at $930/ton said, “We are talking to our supplier for some discounts since actual buying interest is not as strong. Meanwhile, we have also concluded deals for Chinese ethylene based PVC at $910/ton, some $20/ton reduction from initial prices.”
Import PVC to Malaysia currently stands at $930-970/ton, all on a LC at sight term.
