CPMA, which represents the interests of India's domestic chemical and petrochemical industry, is a key body advocating for measures to protect member companies from what it perceives as unfair practices while promoting innovation and technology development.
Data from UN COMTRADE reveals that in 2024, India imported nearly 895,000 tons of LLDPE under HS code 390110. The seven countries named in the investigation were all among the top ten suppliers to India, collectively accounting for 67% of total imports. Notably, the United States—ranked as the third-largest LLDPE supplier to India—was not included in the scope of the probe.
