Brief emergency shutdown at Shenhua Ningxia's PP units

According to market sources, Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group has unexpectedly shut its MTO-based PP1 line 1 and PP2 line 3 unit due to minor technical glitches since 31 October 2016 afternoon. Both lines are expected to remain off-stream for 4-5 days.

Based in Ningxia, China, the company has PP 1 (200,000 ton/year line 1 and 300,000 ton/year line 2), PP 2 (200,000 ton/year line 3 and 300,000 ton/year line 4) units, and a 1.67 million ton/year methanol unit. The PP1 line 2 is producing homo-PP raffia (1102K) grade meanwhile PP2 line 4 is producing homo-PP injection (1100N) grade.

In addition, the company is planning to startup its second phase of new MTO-based 580,000 tons/year PP and 430,000 tons/year PE plants in first quarter of 2017.
