In contrast, the rest of the PP and PE portfolio endured a sharp slump in performance, with multiple grades recording zero deals despite sizeable offer volumes.

Shandong Yulong’s latest auction session saw a rare bright spot in LLDPE film demand after the producer trimmed FD prices by CNY50/ton, drawing some buying itnereset from downstream customers. Deals for LLDPE film (FD) reached 60.9% of auction volume, with transaction prices standing at CNY7,370–7,390/ton ($910–912/ton, excluding VAT).
In contrast, the rest of the PP and PE portfolio endured a sharp slump in performance, with multiple grades recording zero deals despite sizeable offer volumes. PPH yarn, injection, and film grades struggled to attract bids, reflecting the lack of urgency among processors.
“Sentiment was already fragile before the auction began,” a Shandong-based trader noted. “Outside of LLDPE film, prices were simply not competitive enough to overcome the cautious buying mood. Without deeper concessions, deal flow will remain constrained.”
Market participants said selective price cuts may deliver short-lived gains for grades such as LLDPE film, but broader sentiment remains under strain as weak demand and guarded purchasing keep trading momentum in check. Earlier frontloading and lingering uncertainty over a meaningful rebound in household consumption are likely weighing heavily on the market.
