Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co., China’s largest coal-based petrochemical producer, concluded its auction 20 November 2025, with the results for prime grades as follows:

Auction results for PP and LLDPE were softer compared with the previous session, reflecting cautious buyer sentiment. Pricing largely tracked the morning movements on the Dalian Commodity Exchange, where both PP and LLDPE futures traded in a narrow range before rebounding later in the session, with LLDPE futures showing a slightly stronger recovery.

Market participants noted that a CNY 20/ton increase in LLDPE prices was less acceptable to buyers, while homo-PP yarn held steady at levels more readily absorbed by customers. Of the volumes offered at auction, homo-PP yarn cleared 83.3%, whereas LLDPE film saw only 6.7% sold, which shows buyers’ preference to procure solely for immediate needs and their reluctance to budge especially at firmer prices.

A local trader said, “Need-based enquiries were softer this morning compared with earlier this week. Many customers are still assessing the price outlook before planning their next purchases, and most are not inclined to buy beyond immediate requirements.”
