Market sources reported that Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) had declared an emergency shutdown at their crackers and downstream polyolefins units on the 8 Jan 2016 due to feedstocks supply issues.
The petrochemical complex located in Hazira, Gujarat has the capacity as following:

It is unclear on how severe is the condition and how long the complex would remain offline. However, it is speculated that the company might be able to restart their plant by 13 Jan 2016.
Meanwhile, new offer for Indian homo-PP to Vietnam this morning were being announced with $25/t increased compared to before New Year holidays to reach $870/t CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.
