Thailand's PTTGC to increase supplies of ethylene and propylene from naphtha

According to media sources, “Map Ta Phut Retrofit” is being launched by PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), which is a program to increase its ethylene and propylene production by utilizing the excess naphtha from its refinery as feedstock.
Through the program there will be a new naphtha cracker which is able to produce 500,000 ton/year of ethylene and 261,000 ton/year of propylene, which requiring 1.5 million ton/year of naphtha feedstock, eventually boost up the ethylene and propylene output of PTTGC to 2.8 million ton/year and 800,00 ton/year respectively.
PTTGC is planning for bids invitations for the project and the final list of the contractors will be announced by end of the year. Meanwhile, the production is expected to start in Year of 2020.
