Major Southeast Asian producer lifted PE prices, maintained PP

A major Southeast Asian producer has announced new PP and PE offers for April shipment to regional buyers today. In the latest opening, the producer increased prices for HDPE cargoes by $30/ton to reach $1150/t while LDPE film is up $20-30/t at $1200/t, all on CIF SEA, LC AS term. The maker elected to maintain their homo-PP offers unchanged from last month at $1000/t with the same term.

Source from the producer commented, “We find that demand for HDPE grades are weaker than others and we think market might resist to anything above this level for now. We are operating at normal rate but we try to regulate our sales quantity, especially for PP cargoes as supply from Thailand and Singapore appears to be tight.”
