India's GAIL conducts trial run at new PE unit

Market sources reported that Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has started trial operations at its new PE plant.

Based in Pata Complex, Uttar Pradesh, India, the new PE plant produces 100,000 ton/year of metallocene-grade PE (mPE), 100,000 ton/year of LLDPE, and 200,00 ton/year of HDPE. Commercial sales are expected to take place by end of March 2016.

Meanwhile, GAIL also owns a 210,000 ton/year HDPE/LLDPE swing unit at the same petrochemical complex.
